French Roulette

French Roulette is played using game standards and odds that are recognized worldwide. The biggest different between this version and another popular version, the American Roulette is in the odds and the table layout. There are two zeros on the American Table - a single (0) and a double zero (00), whereas on a French table there is only a single zero (0). There is another difference between both types of tables - the numbers are located differently on both the tables.

And, when you play at a French Table, your odds will always be higher as compared to that on an American Table. And, with the former version, if the ball ends up on the zero, then you lose only half of your even-money bets. This rule is called La Partage Rule.

Roulette Betting

The type of betting varies in the French version of the casino game. Every bet is placed on various sets of numbers, while there are different distributions.

The Inside Bets in the game consist of following popular bets:

  • Straight up Bet: In this bet you can wager upon any particular number, even Zero. In this case the chip is kept exactly on the number selected by you.
  • Split Bet: In this bet the chip is placed on two nearby numbers. The chip is placed on the line between the two bet numbers.
  • Street Bet: These bets can be placed over three numbers. The chip is placed close to the three corresponding numbers on the boundary line.
  • Corner Bet: You can place the bet on four numbers. The chip is placed on the cross whether these numbers meet. A bet on 0 to 3 can be made by placing your chip amid 0 and 3 on the boundary line.

The Outside Bets in the game consist of the following popular bets:

  • Column Bet: The table's lower end consists of three boxes. You can place the column bet by marking twelve numbers by placing the chip in a box from among these three boxes.
  • Dozen Bet: In the American version of the game, there are boxes that are labeled as 1st, 2nd and 3rd. In the French version of the game, the equivalent boxes can be found named as 12P, 12M and 12D.
  • Even/Odd, Red/Black, High/Low Bets: You can place bet on 18 numbers on the table by placing the chip on the box found on either side of the roulette table.

Betting Limit

The rules for betting limits are based on the terms and conditions of the casino where you play roulette. Prior to starting playing with the game ensure that you are comfortable with these terms.
