European Roulette

European Roulette is played worldwide for its classic history and lower house edge. The game consists of a spinning wheel along with a betting grid. The game is set into motion by rotating the wheel, which the dealer or the croupier performs, and then he tosses a small ball on the wheel in an opposite direction. Players bet on the slots in which the ball will end up when the wheel stops.

Features of the Roulette Wheel

  • The European Wheel consists of 37 slots with numbers from 1 to 36 and one Zero. All the numbers from 1 to 36 are colored either Red or Black. But the Zero is colored as green.
  • The American Wheel has a total of 38 slots with numbers similar to the European Wheel, from 1 to 36, but there are two Zeros on this wheel - a single and a double Zero.
  • Your chances of winning are high with the European version of the game because the probability of winning the bet is 1 to 37 with this version, compared to the 1 to 38 with the American version.

Online European Roulette

While playing online European Roulette, the bets are placed by clicking on the right place on the table.

There are two types of bets in Roulette.

  • Inside Bets: The first type is known as the 'Inside' bet which is placed on a particular number or a tiny group of numbers. These bets are made on the inner portion of the table, exactly at the place of the numbers.
  • Outside Bets: The second types of bets are placed on bigger groups of up to eighteen numbers. These bets can be made in special areas provided on the table perimeter.

As a player you should be aware of the fact that you can place multiple bets for each and every spin on the table.

In a land based casino, the croupier sets the wheel in motion and then spins the ball into the wheel. However, in the online version of European Roulette, the wheel and the ball are set into motion by clicking on Spin button. In both the cases, the wheel eventually stops and the ball rests on one of the slots, which decides the winner.

Winning at European Roulette

As a player, you can win on the European Table when the ball lands on a number that matches with the number that you bet before the ball was set into motion. The size of the winning amount is based upon the amount bet by you and the type of game bet made by you. The highest payout, which is 35 against 1 is paid out in case you had bet for a single number, which eventually wins. Lowest payouts are paid off 1 against 1, when had bet for a bunch of eighteen numbers and the winning number is among the group bet by you.
